Christmas Card

Last class of English before Christmas we had to prepare a Christmas card to another classmate. I had to make my card to Ana Anabellana. It was my card to Ana:

"I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful Happy New Year!
I hope all your dreams come true
for next year. Christmas is the best holiday and I hope you have a nice days with your family and close friends.

Best wishes!!"

Yolanda gave me an original Christmas card and a dark chocolate. She wrote me a nice text:

"Dear Victoria,

I wish all the happiness in the world to you and your family in this season.

I hope the coming year is full of joy and prosperity for you and your loved ones, and brings you  the best gifts.

Merry Christmas"

Emma

Emma is the last book I read in English. It is a romantic novel and sometimes a comedy. It was wrote by Jane Austen. She was a famous English novelist. Austen wrote only six novels because she died when she was forty one.

First of all, I chose this book because I read other of her and I like them a lot.

The story is about Emma's life. She is beautiful, clever and rich. She lives in Highbury close to London. Emma's mother died when she was only five, then she lived with her father Mr Woodhouse, and he found Miss Taylor to live with them at Hardfield and look after the children.

When she was nearly twenty one years old, Emma introduced her neighbour  Mr Weston to Miss Taylor. She thought that they were a pretty couple. And soon, they got married and Mrs Weston went to live with them. Emma and his father were alone again.

She likes to arrange marriages between her friends and neightbours, but sometimes she makes mistakes.
Firstly, she wanted to arrange a wedding match between her best friend Harriet and  Mr Elton, the vicar. She believed that the vicar loved Harriet, although, she was wrong, Mr Elton loved her instead of Harriet. He declared his love but Emma refused him. A few weeks later, he got married to Augustas Hawkins. Also, Harriet received a proposal, from Mr Martin, a local farmer. Emma advised her to refuse him, because in her opinion Harriet could make a better match.

Later, she met Frank Churchill, Mr Weston's son, he was a very sensible and friendly and she believed that they could be a lovely couple. However, she didn't love him.
One day, Harriet was harassed  by some gypsies and Frank saved her. Emma supposed that they were in love and she thought it was a good match. Although, Frank Churchill and Miss Fairfax were secretly engaged.

After, Harriet reveals Emma that she was in love with Mr Knighley. He was an old friend of the family. Then she knew that she was also love with him. After that, Mr Knighley told Emma his love, and he proposed her.
Finally, Harriet visited Emma's sister. She met Mr Martin, who again proposed to her, and she accepted.
In  the end, the story ends happily because Emma got married to Mr Knighley. Harriet got married to Mr Martin and Frank Churchill to Miss Fairfax.

I strongly recommend this book, it has love and comedy stories. In my opinion  Jane Austen was an excellent writer. Nowadays, her novels are a classic of English literature.
